What We do

Awareness of cardiovascular disease in Nigeria is very low. Raising awareness is pivotal to prevention and control of cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke). As with other non-communicable diseases, awareness aids early detection. In the case of hypertension; early detection will help prevent fatal complications such as heart attack, stroke or kidney damage.
We intend to conduct the following activities in no distant future: screening, promotion of heart-health, advocacy and applied research.

World Heart Day (WHD) 2014

World Heart Day holds every September 29, since year 2000. The essence of this is to inform people across the globe that cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke) is the world’s number one killer. The theme of WHD 2014 is “creating heart-healthy environments.” EHF seized on WHD 2014 to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke in Ibadan city, Oyo State.
